Laying out attendance and time off policies

Adapt this resource when writing your own manual. Note these features:

• A simple form for tracking bonus time off (paid leave): The form contains "placeholder" names that can easily be changed.

This resource was created by Wausau Fresh Start (Wausau, WI), an AmeriCorps*State program that mentors at-risk youth, helps them become more employable, and teaches them adult living skills.

According to the program, most time off is unpaid but members can earn bonus time by following the attendance policy, earning good job references, and demonstrating reliability. The policy allows Youth Corps members to take time off legitimately and mirrors actual job policies.
